SYMPOSIA

Symposium I: Synthetic and Biosynthetic Paths to Natural Product Diversity

This symposium will concentrate on state-of-the-art methods for increasing natural product structural diversity and obtaining the quantities of natural product drug leads necessary for pre-clinical and clinical testing.

    Speakers:

Symposium II: Clinical Evaluation of Herbs and Supplements: Trials, Toxicology, and Drug Interactions

The focus of this symposium will be on results from current clinical trials of herbal products being conducted at NCCAM/ODS centers.

    Speakers:

    1.         Andrew A. Nierenberg (Massachusetts General Hospital)        

    2.         Tieraona Low Dog (University of Arizona)

    3.         Mary Hardy (University of California, Los Angeles)

Symposium III: The Chemical Biology of Natural Products: Molecular Targets and Molecular Methods (two sections)

The focus will be on screening natural products in molecularly targeted high throughput screens, and the role of natural products in the NIH Roadmap's screening initiatives
